Books and periodicals

The Library section of the Swiss Social Archives collects and archives books and periodicals as well as non-books. In terms of subject matter, it is focused on the documentation of social problems: the collection is centred on the change in the social question as well as on the social dimension of economic and political developments in Switzerland.

The Library is the right place for you if you are looking for rapid and comprehensive information on a particular topic or tracking the status of research. Also of interest for researchers is the comprehensive historical collection of books, and especially of periodicals, unique anywhere in Switzerland. The specialisation of the collection early on, plus continuity in what has been collected, have been decisive for this.
